Harvest data from any source document
Sometimes our clients are not aware that our web technology includes capturing data from any PDF document, including client account statements from banks and other financial institutions. We even support capturing data from scanned documents. There might be quality issues involved with harvesting data from scanned documents, though.

Xero Cashbook integration available now
Accountants using RSDataWeb can now automatically import cash transactions from virtually any Australian bank. The accountants' clients can access their cashbook online for example to amend missing cheque narrations. Unlike other cash interfaces there is no manual upload or download required as we've automated the flow of data using secure web services. Xero will publish the integration as a partner add-on soon after one final user test.

Recently a few of our clients' emails to us bounced. It turned out that some Bigpond mail servers are blacklisted by the global spam blocker ORBS.net. According to TechieHQ.net all what is needed to do is using the Bigpond SMTP server "mail-hub.bigpond.net.au" if you are a Bigpond customer.

New SMSF contribution cap alert
Based on a suggestion by a valued Queensland based accounting client, we'll add a new online feature which automatically alerts RSDataWeb users when SMSF trustees approach / go beyond the age-based concessional and non-concessional contribution caps set by the ATO. The thresholds will be kept flexible to accomodate future changes (2012?). This will save SMSFs substantial amounts of tax and support dollars.

An Australian First training session
Today we performed our first ALL-CLOUD SMSF administration training session. InteractiveAccounting Sydney is deploying RSDataWeb for SMSF data preparation and Supercorp's superMate for SMSF accounting. RewardSuper and Supercorp are in the last steps of integrating both systems via Web Services. IA will be the first Accounting firm in Australia that exclusively uses web applications for administering and finalising their clients' super accounts.
